This the weblog of our adventures, big and small, in owning, maintaining and sailing our new to us 1983 Mirage 27. We bought this boat last fall from the widow of its former owner. She is a well cared for gem of a boat designed by the very talented Robert Perry. This boat is a move up from our Tanzer 22, A’bhan-dia Fand, which was a wonderful boat that introduced us to the joy of sailing and protected us from ourselves while we learned the ropes. We were afflicted with to the sailors disease of two-foot-it is when our good friends and fellow travelers, Chris and Lynda, moved up from their T22 to and Tanzer 26. We plan to cruise the Thousand Islands, lower St-Lawrence and, hopefully, Lake Champlain. These cruising grounds are all accessible from our home port of Baie d’Urfé (BDYC) on Lac St-Louis, near Montreal. We will also race Rêverie in the Saturday afternoon club races and occasionally in the weekday inter-club races with the Ile Perrot Yacht Club across the lake. So, far we have had her out in both light and heavy winds and she performed well in both instances.
We hope you will join us for this adventure and look forward to reading your comments.
